Cut off Stages

Cut off marks for UPSC Exam are divided into three different stages namely:

  • Preliminary exam – The qualified candidate is shortlisted for Main exam.
  • Main exam – The qualified candidate is selected for face to face interview.
  • Personal Interview – The qualified candidate is shortlisted for recruitment.

The applicant needs to note that qualifying indicates that the candidate has crossed the cut off limit clearly by attaining either equal or higher than cut off marks.

If the aspirant’s score is lower than the cut off, he/she cannot be shortlisted for the next round in recruitment process. It is mandatory to exceed the cut off limit to qualify for the next round in the process.

  • No of aspirants
  • Difficulty level of Exam
  • No of post’s available
  • Previous years shortlisted figures
  • Marking scheme
